ESOS CONSULTATION – EXAMINING CHAPTERS 5 & 6 – EMA Workshop – 11 August 2021, 11:00-12:00, EMA Live Virtual Event
The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) consultation proposes to strengthen the scheme by improving the quality of audits through increased standardisation of reporting requirements, inclusion of a net zero element to audits, and requiring public disclosure of high-level recommendations by participants in Phase 3. It also looks for views on additional options, possibly implemented in Phase 4, such as mandating implementation of ESOS recommendations and extension of ESOS to medium sized enterprises.
The upcoming EMA workshop will offer a brief introduction to the ESOS consultation, its aims and scope, major proposed changes and their importance in light of the current Phase 3 of ESOS. The session will examine Chapters 5 & 6 of the consultation proposals in more detail, discuss questions raised by BEIS and allow for an ample discussion of the proposed measures.
