CARBON REDUCTION & RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENT DRIVING GLL’S SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY AND JOURNEY TO NET ZERO, 16 NOV 2022, 11:00-12:00, ZOOM

GLL, a leading Leisure Trust and charitable social enterprise*, is working hard on its net zero ambition, and supports its partners in achieving theirs. The organisation is responsible for the energy consumption of around 400 million kW each year and associated carbon emission of 80 tonnes CO2 annually from its operations.

Join us on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 for the workshop  on Carbon Reduction and Renewable Energy Investment Driving GLL's Sustainability Strategy and Journey to Net Zero. The session will examine how GLL is planning to meet its Net Zero targets and where the focus is in the short and long term.  Jeremy Gould, GLL’s Energy & Environment Manager will outline the Trust’s journey so far as part of the existing Environmental Strategy and emissions’ reductions made within its leisure and library operations through measures such as Combined Heat & Power, pool cover installations, LED lighting replacements and operational efficiencies through better control and monitoring of plant. He will focus on what has worked and the challenges on the way.  In addition, he will highlight the new investments taking place as part of the Trust’s sustainability strategy to reduce emissions further through on-site generation, solar panel installations to reduce electricity consumption by a further 500,000kWh in 2023, and emissions reductions through partnership working with the public, private and third sector.

The workshop will offer an opportunity to ask questions, too.

*GLL is a leading Leisure Trust and charitable social enterprise which exists to make community services and spaces better for everyone; the public, the communities they work and the environment.
