EMA ONLINE WORKSHOPS

It is said that good things come in pairs. In this spirit, we would like to invite you to our online events this week.

14 July (11:00-12:00) What Are Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and How Do They Work?

PPAs have become a topic for discussion recently as Government subsidies disappear. They are now being used more often, particularly to fund renewable energy generation projects by putting in place long term arrangements to sell the energy generated. However, there are different types of PPAs with varying duration and conditions and they can be on-site or grid-based.

This workshop will cover what PPAs are, the basic types, how they work, and their advantages and limitations.

15 July (11:00:12:00) Identifying Lighting Types, Their Advantages and Disadvantages

Upgrading lighting systems tends to be one of the most common solutions when considering energy efficiency. However, identifying the type of lighting already installed in a building, knowing its current efficiency and recognising those types that are best for upgrade projects is not always easy.

This workshop will help you to understand the different types of lighting commonly found inside and outside buildings, their relative efficiency, advantages and disadvantages and which are best to target for changing, along with the likely savings to be made. It will also cover the key elements of lighting upgrade projects to help you be more conversant with quotes you may receive when you are presented with a lighting solution.

There will be opportunities to ask questions after each workshop.
