The CCA scheme is a voluntary scheme that encourages businesses in a wide range of industrial sectors with energy-intensive processes, such as chemicals, paper and ceramics to agricultural businesses such as intensive pig and poultry, to invest in energy efficiency measures in return for reduced rates of Climate Change Levy (CCL).

The consultation sets out high-level proposals for the significant reforms for a future CCA scheme. This includes scheme length, eligibility and proposals to increase uptake of energy efficiency technologies & transparency of action taken.

The consultation will be open until 11 March 2022.
