ENTRY CRITERIA & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Fully completed entry forms must be submitted by 5 pm on 18th of September 2026. 
  • Entry fee:
    • Entry fee is waived for entries where either a nominee or nominator holds a valid membership with the EMA at the time of the submission. The number of accepted submissions is at the discretion of the EMA.
    • Entry fee of £75 (per entry) is payable for entries where neither a nominee or nominator holds a valid membership with the EMA at the time of the submission.
    • The entry fee is non-refundable and due at the point of the submission. Please pay the 2026 entry fee HERE, and include the payment’s order number in the allocated entry form’s field.
    • Entries submitted by non-members will be considered once the associated payment is received. Whilst the payment is due at the point of the submission, it must be received no later than 2 days from the date of the submission.
    • The entry fee payment does not constitute acceptance of the submitted entry into the 2026 awards. An acceptance of the entry will be confirmed via email within 10 business days.
  • Entry forms for each award category should be completed in full, including only information relevant to the specific criteria to enable the judging panel to assess the merits, relevant supporting evidence must be supplied. Incomplete entry forms will be rejected.
  • Shortlisting of finalists is at the discretion of the Chair of Judges made up of EMA Board of Directors and Members of the EMA Steering Group.
  • Any evidence to support the entry must accompany the EMA Energy Management Awards entry form submission.
  • By completing an entry form, nominees and nominators agree that the following statements are true:
    • All submitted information is correct.
    • If any of the information is found to be misleading or untrue the entry will be removed immediately.
    • You agree that in the event of winning an award any information in the entry form can be disseminated by the EMA.
  • The 2026 Winners and Highly Commended will be announced on 5 November 2026.

Energy Management Professionals of the Year - Private and Public Sector

Nominees

We are seeking applications from professionals with several years’ experience in energy management or sustainability, with a track record of delivering measurable energy performance improvements. The entry should reflect the entrant's industry knowledge and experience, their achievements and initiatives to promote energy efficiency, and include overall savings and energy/carbon reduction achieved for their organisation.

We are inviting entries from professionals who believe they meet these criteria, as well as nominations from colleagues and peers. Entrants will be required to demonstrate their impact and achievements, supported by clear examples and measurable results.

Example roles include Energy Manager, Senior Energy Manager, Energy Efficiency Manager, Energy Performance Manager, Energy Reduction Manager and Decarbonisation Manager; technical roles such as Energy Engineer and Building Services Engineer (energy-focused); operational roles such as Facilities Manager (with primary energy responsibility) and Estates Manager (energy-led role); and sustainability-focused positions including Sustainability Manager, Head of Sustainability, Sustainability Lead, Sustainability Director, Carbon Manager, Carbon Reduction Manager and Environmental Manager.
