
Mohammad Monir Rafique
Head of Sustainability at Crown Prosecution Service
Mohammad holds a MSc. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Greenwich (2008), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv.) and certified ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor. He began his career at Royal Mail, leading environmental improvements and implementing an Environmental Management System. He has held sustainability roles at Surrey Police, where he led the force’s Net Zero strategy, and at Tameside and Glossop Integrated NHS FT. At the Ministry of Justice, he led on decarbonisation for the UK Home Office estate.
Mohammad recently joined the Crown Prosecution Service as Head of Sustainability, where he is leading efforts to embed sustainability across policy, operations and culture.
With broad experience in delivering sustainable development, his passion for sustainability began in 2005 in the leather industry as an engineer, where he saw the environmental impact of industrial practices. He is committed to driving net zero progress and embedding sustainability across public services.
