EVALUATION OF THE STREAMLINED ENERGY AND CARBON REPORTING (SECR)
The Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) evaluation brings together extensive research to assess whether SECR is effectively driving real-world energy efficiency and decarbonisation actions. Commissioned to support the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the findings will feed into the statutory post-implementation review of SECR and help determine its impact and cost-effectiveness.
Beyond SECR itself, the evidence will strengthen the wider case for sustainability reporting as a policy tool, offering insights that can inform future developments across DESNZ and other departments seeking to accelerate carbon reduction and energy efficiency through transparent reporting requirements.
