Paul Eggleton CEng BEng (hons) MIMechE MEI FEMA – Commercial & Business Development Director, Mitie Energy
Paul is an Energy & Sustainability expert with over 18 years of international experience including; process engineering, corporate sustainability & real estate, commercial risk management, finance, digital services & IOT, and business operations & change management. He has a broad sector background from working in manufacturing with Kodak, telecoms, digital & IOT with Telefonica O2, and recently financial services with Lloyds Banking Group. He is currently the Commercial & Business Development Director for Mitie’s Energy business focused on developing integrated sustainability solutions as part of Mitie’s new Connected Workspace Strategy. Paul’s excels at stakeholder and client management helping customers develop and deliver on their ambitions whilst driving growth.
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer by background he has managed large P&L’s and delivered many high value programmes including Telefonica’s winning CSP bid for the UK’s Smart Metering programme, worth £1.5bn. He was also the Energy & Sustainability lead for the O2 team that delivered the smarter and agile workspace for O2’s £40m sustainable HQ in Slough. Other notable work includes creating and managing O2’s energy and carbon strategy underpinning the award-winning Think Big sustainability program, and he defined and delivered the energy & sustainability programme for Lloyds Banking Group, delivering savings of over £8m per annum within an ESCO structure. Paul also delivered the £130m PPA project for Lloyds and won the inaugural ACRE365 Environmental award in 2015.
Paul also has broad operational, commercial and leadership experience. Working within the senior leadership team at O2 as the Head of Development & Planning, Paul helped shape strategy, capability, and the operating model for the £1bn/yr. operations department during O2’s digital transformation.
With experience that covers engineering, technology, digital and smart, as well as energy & sustainability Paul is particularly interested in digital transformation and the role this plays in the converging space of Energy & Sustainability, Real Estate and FM. A recognised industry expert Paul is also a founding director of the Energy Managers Association. Working with Lord Redesdale, Paul sits on the EMA board supporting, promoting, and raising awareness of the energy profession, pushing it up the internal agenda and supporting energy professionals in their career.
