
Dan Fernbank
Energy & Sustainability Director at University of Reading
Dan has been working at the University of Reading since 2011, leading their estate-wide sustainability programmes. He has delivered a 44% cut in their carbon emissions; saving almost £35 million in the process. Dan has championed the role of energy efficiency in carbon reductions, with substantial improvements in building efficiency through the University’s estate. He also has a keen interest in heat decarbonisation, and in particular the role of heat pumps in delivering net zero carbon emissions.
Dan is also a Director for Reading Community Energy Society, delivering community funded solar PV in Reading and beyond.
